What A Challenging Year It's Been

Hello, O’Shea Team,

Even though it probably looked different this year, I hope everyone had an enjoyable holiday season. With the start of 2021, I usually start the New Year with some kind of message and a recap of our past year. But let’s be honest, 2020 was not ideal for anyone. In our professional and personal lives, we’ve weathered several challenges from new jobsite protocols daily to working from home to virtual school and meetings and everything in between. That being said, I am sincerely proud of what we’ve accomplished and juggled this year on the projects and at home, and I wanted to highlight a few things:

  • We were fortunate to be deemed an essential business, allowing us to continue operations and keep our team working.
  • We wrapped up significant projects, like St. Mary of Lourdes, the YMCA, Montessori Academy for Peace, and the Westminster Presbyterian Church parking lot project to name a few.
  • While healthcare was one of our primary markets, we secured several K-12 projects this year including Sherman-Williamsville, Mt. Zion, and Maroa-Forsyth to name a few.
  • Continuous improvement was at the forefront of 2020 with several employees participating in leadership or other development areas, like Good to Great, O’Shea LEADS and Super LEADS, virtual CE opportunities, and other department-focused and lean initiatives.
  • In addition, we opened a Decatur office to support our growing client base in the area.

I am happy to say that in spite of the challenges, the entire O’Shea Team stepped up and made sure we continued to deliver with excellence every day for our clients and for each other. What we navigated this year, and ultimately achieved for the organization and the clients we serve, wouldn’t have been possible without everyone’s hard work across the organization. And I could not be prouder of the O’Shea Team.

In closing, I want to extend my sincere thanks to each of you for what you bring to O’Shea every day – your drive, loyalty, passion, and resilience. These are the qualities that set the O’Shea Team apart from the pack. I hope that in the year ahead you find great fulfillment in everything you do as a member of this team.

Now, let’s together celebrate the dawn of a New Year. It will, undoubtedly, bring new opportunities and new challenges that we will successfully navigate together.
