O’Shea served as Construction Manager for InnovaFeed’s new pilot plant that was constructed in Decatur on 25 acres between ADM and Richland Community College. For InnovaFeed, a French-based biotechnology company, this is their first facility in the U.S.
This 10,000-square-foot production facility farms black solider flies to be used as insect protein to feed animals and fish. As part of the project, InnovaFeed partnered with ADM to use biomass from their nearby corn processing plant to feed the insects.
