Mike 'The Toolman' Richey Packs up his Tools

For more than 12 years, Mike Richey has been O'Shea's very own "Toolman" extraordinaire. In official terms, Mike served as O'Shea's warehouse manager, and it’s a role he’s retiring from. Any O'Shea employee knows Mike helped manage the vast warehouse operation.

Mike shared, "When I started at O'Shea, there were two people working in the warehouse, and 3,000 power tools in the inventory. Now, there are six of us, and over 14,000 power tools in the inventory."

According to Mike O'Shea, Mike Richey played a significant role in expanding and transforming the warehouse into the well-oiled machine it is today.

"Mike [Richey] was instrumental in the transition from our prior warehouse to our current warehouse. He kept a steady hand on the operation as the population of our warehouse service grew in both numbers and geography. I’ll greatly miss Mike’s attention to detail and his care and concern for our tools and equipment,” Mike O'Shea said.

As Mike hangs up his tools at O'Shea, he shares his favorite memories. "Some of my favorite memories were working with the 'Divas' on various charity prop builds like the Festival of Trees or building a circus ring for the Team Celebration. Life in the warehouse was always an adventure," he said.

He continues, "The past 12 years I've really enjoyed my work and sharing the occasional laugh with Bud O'Shea. Seeing and keeping up with the growth of O'Shea was a rewarding challenge, and I will miss the great relationships and friendships I've built."

While his career is slowing down, Mike has big goals for the future that'll keep him busy. "I'm going to create an Instagram page sharing the adventures of Phoebe Buffay Richey, and I'll be spending time in Alabama at our condo."

Best of luck to Mike in his "golden years,” a.k.a. retirement!
